North Shields Register Office wedding photographer

Not all register offices are created equal. North Shields Register Office is a really pretty one. Situated in North Shields and close to Tynemouth it has stunning views out across the river Tyne towards Newcastle and in the other direction towards the sea.

It’s my favorite register office to work at and I have covered many weddings there of all types. From very small, intimate weddings or elopements - sometimes with just the couple themselves and a couple of witnesses (I’ve sometimes been asked to be a witness myself!), same sex weddings and larger weddings with 60 or more guests.

My wedding photo packages cover everything, from a 2 hour Essentials package, to full day coverage from preps to first dance, and everything in between. I often get asked to do my Essentials at North Shields register so here’s a run through of what can be achieved with this.

Assuming you’re both arriving separately. I usually arrive around 30 minutes before the ceremony time and start by capturing the groom, best man if there is one, and any family and friends who might be there.

Generally the groom will go into the register office around 15 minutes before the ceremony and I’ll wait outside for the bride’s arrival. Although brides being late is a common joke, I suggest not to cut the timing too fine(!) so we get a few minutes outside for some ‘before’ photos before the bride has to go inside to sort the final paperwork.

While that’s being done I’ll go up to the ceremony room and catch a few of the groom and guests waiting for the bride to arrive.

The main ceremony room is beautiful and airy with lovely views of the Tyne. The sun blasts in the windows on a bright day.

And so to capturing the bride’s entrance and ceremony.

I’ll then be ready to catch you exiting the room and heading down the stairs to the balcony.

After giving you a chance to catch your breath and chat with your guests this lovely area with stunning views can be used for a confetti photo if you want one and also for any family/group shots you would like.

At this stage the guests begin to head of the wherever the rest of the celebrations are taking place and I suggest that the newly married couple stay behind for a while to get some couple photos. We do this on the balcony and around the register office building.

I also know a few other spots within a short walk where we can add a bit more variety to the photos with some parkland backdrops and others.

All the above is usually possible with my 2 hour Essentials wedding photo package. I work unobtrusively, mostly in the background allowing you to get on and enjoy your special day with friends and family.

Within a week of your wedding you’ll receive access to your own online gallery from where you can view and download all your fully edited hi-res images. I can of course also offer albums, prints and canvases in addition if wanted.

If you are getting married at North Shields Register Office or any other venue in Newcastle, Northumberland, Durham or beyond then please get in touch to check my availability and get a quote. I’d love to hear your plans!
